The Seoul Grand Park is not just a huge park with hills within the boundaries of the city territory, but a fantastic zoo!
On one of my days in Seoul I grabbed a subway map and headed south all the way to the Seoul Grand Park station to pay a local zoo (among ten biggest zoos in the world!) a visit. Since my highly enjoyable experience at the Berlin Zoo back in 2009, I try to check out the zoos wherever I travel. I was surprised to find out that the Seoul Zoo, yet being within the city borders, is actually located in a huge park with no buildings in view and is surrounded with scenic hills covered with forests perfect for hiking. Apart from looking at all the curious animals, people come here to relax, breath a fresh air and have a picnic. By the way, there is a good cafe with a variety of Korean dishes before the tiger pavillion – the bibimbap there is a yum!
Одним солнечным сеульским утром я развернула карту метро и направилась по городским просторам далеко на юг, на станцию Seoul Grand Park, чтобы навестить местный зоопарк, входящий в десятку самых больших зоопарков в мире. В своё время меня так поразил зоопарк в Берлине, что я стараюсь не обходить стороной зоопарки в посещаемых мной городах. Сеульский зоопарк меня приятно удивил своим расположением: он находится в громадном парке, окружённом живописными холмами. Здесь приятно не только посмотреть на животных, но и просто приехать расслабиться, подышать свежим воздухом и организовать пикник. Кстати, не пропустите кафе с корейской кухней около вольера с тиграми – там потрясающий пибимпаб!
